Senior Congress Leader Gurudas Kamat Dies

NEW DELHI — Senior Congress leader and previous Union minister Gurudas Kamat died right here right after suffering a heart assault early on Wednesday, family members members stated.

Kamat, 63, was taken to Primus Healthcare facility in Chanakyapuri all-around 7 am soon after he complained of breathlessness, but he died on the way.

The family members members claimed he was presented tea by his team in the early morning when he complained of sudden breathlessness and was straight away rushed to the medical center by his driver.

He was alone at his Vasant Enclave private home at the time. His spouse and children rushed from Mumbai to get the entire body back again.

Kamat experienced wished his followers “Eid Mubarak” on Twitter very last evening. His previous tweet was at 11.44 pm wishing contentment on the situation of Eid-Al-Adha.

UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi visited the medical center and paid her final respects to the departed chief.

Previous president Pranab Mukherjee expressed his shock about Kamat’s untimely demise.

“Stunned and pained at the unexpected and untimely demise of Shri Gurudas Kamat. A colleague in the government and the celebration for numerous years, his passing away at these young age is tragic,” Mukherjee reported in a tweet.

Home minister Rajnath Singh also expressed his unhappiness. “Anguished by the sudden demise of previous Union minister and senior Congress chief Shri Gurudas Kamat. He was a seasoned leader who had also served the nation as the MoS in the MHA. My ideas are with his relatives and supporters,” he claimed on Twitter.

Congress main spokesperson Randeep Surjewala reported, “Stunned and deeply anguished to master about the unexpected demise of Congress Leader Sh Gurudas Kamat ji. No words are sufficient to describe the sense of loss. My deepest condolences to his relatives, mates and followers. I pray for the departed soul.”

A five-time member of Parliament from Mumbai, Kamat was also the president of the NSUI from 1976 to 1980.

He was the Union minister of point out for household affairs with the added cost of communications and facts engineering from 2009 to 2011. In July 2011, he resigned from the post.

An advocate by teaching, Kamat was also a former president of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee.
